Our nation is moving towards a critical moment. On November 3rd, we will vote in an off-year election. It’s misleading to say it is not an important election. At stake are all the seats in the House of Representatives along with 1/3 of the Senate seats. It’s a toss up whether Democrats will win enough seats to wrest control of Congress. If they do, President Trump will have a difficult time governing the country during his last two years in office.
But the stakes are even greater because some of the Democrats that are challenging conservatives are radical socialists and communists. It would be a very important moment for our country. Since the inception of our nation, Americans have fought against efforts by socialists to gain control of countless countries around the world. Interestingly, all efforts to install socialism have been unsuccessful. Even China has been unable to grow its country without the benefits of capitalistic dogma.
Notwithstanding the poor performance of many nations who espouse socialism, a meaningful number of voters have been supportive of socialistic ideology in the US. I am afraid Americans who vote for socialist lawmakers are going to seriously regret their vote.
The differences between socialists and capitalists are best exemplified by the following issues: income, immigration, the role of government and socialization.
Socialists believe that the wealth of a country should be shared among all people equally. This is an impossible objective as workers will always look for ways to get a larger piece of the pie.
Socialists want open boarders regardless of the implication to the social structure of the society. In the case of the US, immigrants crave US citizenship even though large immigration puts enormous pressure on the existing citizens of the country. The 10 or 20 million people who have entered the US illegally have created massive financial and social problems.
Socialists tend to force living conditions on workers. It is inevitable that certain members of society will have more and usurp a greater portion of benefits.
Socialists promise the people inexpensive living expenses; they say that heavy taxation of the wealthier classes will be the source of their generosity. But the money will run low and mostly to the ruling classes.
Most would agree that the standard of living of people in a socialist environment is far less than in capitalistic countries.
Consider the plight of the thousands of people who have descended upon the US during the past 10 years. This group is not breaking down barriers and sneaking into our country because they yearn for socialism. They want a chance to build a new life in an acceptable society.
